The prevalence of bronchial asthma, a recognised hypersensitivity disorder, is rising quickly in the modern world, particularly in wealthy countries.
Patients and physicians are looking at complementary and alternative medical systems for potential remedies because modern medicine does not offer enough treatment options for a long-lasting and permanent resolution. Asthma problems and remedies are covered in great detail in Ayurveda, a well-known traditional medical system worldwide.
An overview of Ayurvedic asthma treatment and a possible comparison with allopathic drugs have been attempted.Modern discoveries can be appropriately linked to the etiopathogenesis described by Ayurveda in historical circumstances. Like other traditional medicinal systems, Ayurveda has used almost entirely natural approaches to treat asthma. However, using natural resources differs greatly from the conventional use of herbs in terms of both methodology and comprehension.
The unique use of herbs in Ayurveda and its advantages for patients are the subject of the current presentation. In order to establish a beneficial ethnopharmacological relationship, Ayurvedic herbal remedies that have been shown in recent studies to have anti-asthmatic properties are collected here. Different aspects of Ayurvedic treatment for clinical asthma applications have been highlighted, whether they are used separately or in conjunction with an integrated therapy strategy.
